Help us meet our goal of $50,000 for farming on Kumeyaay Land
Indigenous Re-Generation is a 501c3 created to inspire tribal communities in regenerative living concepts for improved self governance, through; food (regenerative agriculture and permaculture), medicine and culture (ethnobotany and primitive skills), earth-building and off grid water and power systems to achieve re-indigenization and true tribal sovereignty while also amplifying language and cultural revitalization projects.

Sea + Soil acknowledges that surfing is Indigenous and we are occupying stolen land. We, as surfers and ocean stewards, aim to support Indigenous Re-Generation in leveraging our personal privilege to provide volunteer efforts, supplies, and educational materials as directed by IRG. We offer an eager workforce to engage in projects where building, growing, and earth stewardship can facilitate the execution of Indigenous-led solutions for land management, water protection, and community wellness.
What We’ve Done Together
Planted 750 native, drought tolerant, edible, and fire resistant trees as part of the Kumeyaay Food Forest Project on the San Pasqual Reservation.
Hosted 5+ community events together, with over 130 coastal volunteers who traveled an hour inland to participate
Installed ½ acre regenerative organic production farm as part of a COVID-Food Relief Grant, feeding 40 Kumeyaay families weekly with free farm food boxes in partnership with the San Diego Food Shed.
Initiated a Tribal Farm Apprenticeship Program with one-on-one educational training and cooperative skill sharing at Paradise Valley Farm
Ongoing documentation of Chris Alvarado’s Bird Song and Elder Storytelling Project

Creation of a 200 hour educational certificate program open to anyone interested in regenerative organic farming practices taught with core Indigenous principles

Maintenance of production at Paradise Valley Farm to offer free farm food boxes to Kumeyaay Elders and families on San Pascual Reservation
Meet Carol Murphy
Carol is the first graduate from our Tribal Apprenticeship Program. She is a part of the Pechanga Band of Luiseño Indians, (or Payómkawichum, meaning “people of the West,”) and is a passionate farmer, graphic designer, surfer, and environmental justice advocate. After receiving her Permaculture Design Certification in 2019, Carol became dedicated to providing fresh produce to underserved communities in San Diego County.
Carol will be moving to Los Angeles at the end of the year to explore urban farming while designing her dream plot for her family back home on the Pechanga Reservation.
We Appreciate Your Support.
Help us to continue organizing more Indigenous apprenticeships, surf + garden meet ups on Kumeyaay land, and begin our mission of healing the land and ourselves.
